Pulp painting and Collage - Sunday November 9, 2025

This workshop will explore using pulp as a painting medium. Finely beaten cotton pulp is pigmented, and when mixed with methyl cellulose, creates a smooth paste very similar to paint. After couching sheets, participants  will experiment with different ways of pulp painting and mark making using brushes, squeeze bottles and stencils.

Participants will also have the opportunity to embed collage elements into newly made sheets of paper, such as  photos, hair, leaves, etc. We will supply a variety of materials to embed but participants are also encouraged to bring their own, as long as they’re flat.

Limited to 6 participants. This is a great class for any level.
